About Emily
This is Emily. This picture is taken about 5 months before she
died at the age of 11 after a lifelong battle with Cystic Fibrosis.
My friend (and her nurse) Carrie snapped this picture on a “day
out” from the hospital. Emily took her oxygen off for the picture.
Carrie said, “When her lips turned blue, I’d make her put her oxygen
back on.” Emily laughed until the very end. Her courage is what
inspired the formation of our guild, and continues to remind us
why we work so hard for
Children’s
Hospital.
